October News from the Choir Stalls
Congratulations to Jack who has been our chorister of the month for September. He has attended over the summer months even though it was holiday time! Well done!
This month I have a moved our website to a new address. It is www.ourchoir.talktalk.net/htdocs
The reason for this is that it is free, whereas the other address wasn’t. You can still access the site via the previous address but you won’t find it updated. I have also changed our choir email address. The new one is now:-
ourchoir@hotmail.co.uk
The reason for that change is because of an excessive amount of junk mail.
September is the start of a new school year and often a good time to join our choir as we start lots of new material. We welcome all ages and there is no audition or anything like that. Simply come along and try us out for a few weeks.
This term I decided to try a new venture and offered to train a choir at Lydiate St Thomas’s school. They accepted my offer and though it is early days yet we hope they will be coming along to join us for our service of Nine Lessons and Carols. That may seem a long way off but there is a lot to do before then.
Talking of Christmas (sorry!) the choir is also starting a new venture. We are going to be selling quality Christmas cards which will be available very shortly and sold in aid of church funds. The cards are published by Church House so I am sure you will all like them. It is often very difficult nowadays to find seasonal cards of a religious nature so please have a look at our cards before you stock up.
